When Mothers and Babies are Healthy, Communities are Healthy

Meet Clara and her baby, Isabelle. Clara lives in a rural town in Bolivia where the nearest health post, and healthcare for her baby, is a 3 hour walk. Women from over 140 surrounding communities travel on foot – with their newborns on their backs – to arrive at Sapahaqui Health Center Maternal Infant Clinic. Clara has made this walk in the past only to arrive to find an under-stocked clinic. By strengthening the health network, we’re working to ensure that once women like Clara arrive at their healthcare facility, they’re met with a warm, dignified environment and obtain the care they and their families deserve.
