Volunteer/Join a Project

Your time is powerful. Sort and pack medical supplies to bring Health to All.

As an organization dedicated to public health, we believe it is our responsibility to do what is right for the most vulnerable. Therefore, we will be requiring all staff, volunteers, and anyone entering our building to wear a mask while volunteering.

Volunteer Shifts for Individuals:

SINGLE SHIFTS are for “one time only” on a specific day and time.

RECURRING SLOTS will happen every week on the same day/time. If you sign up for this, you are committing to volunteer every week. If you can’t make it one week, of course, you may call off.

If you need help with signing up, email glvolunteer@globallinks.org or call 412.361.3424

We offer Corporate Team Volunteer Experiences on Fridays. Groups of up to 30 people can choose a shift from either 10:00am-12:00pm or 1:00-3:00pm. We begin with a tour and discussion of our work. This adds to the experience, as volunteers learn about and connect to the impact of their time. We ask Corporate Groups to make a donation to accompany their volunteer shift. This helps cover delivery of the donations you sort and pack to where they are needed most.

See more details on our Corporate Volunteering Experiences here.

Studies show that Corporate Volunteerism not only increases employee morale and improves team/staff relations, but also enhances the perception of their brand. According to a recent article in Business News Daily, a study on corporate volunteerism, done by Deloitte, found that “an overwhelming majority – 89% – of employees think organizations that sponsor volunteer activities offer a better overall working environment. In addition, 70% believe volunteer activities are more likely to boost staff morale than company-sponsored happy hours, with more than three-quarters saying volunteering is essential to employee well-being.

Group Volunteering: Make a World of Difference

Aside from the obvious benefits, volunteering with a group you belong to offers additional bonuses.  Group volunteering is a great team building activity.  Working together to achieve a common goal, you get to know your fellow group members in a new way and see them in a different light.  People have the opportunity to practice skills and step up in ways they may not usually.  This is your time to shine!  We provide the projects, the purpose, and the music.  You bring the willingness and the fun.

Global Links’ Personal Care Kit Project provides dignity, health and hygiene to local neighbors/households/families. Made up of some of the most commonly requested products by our Community Partner organizations for their clients, these Personal Care Kits contain toothpaste, toothbrush, dental floss, soap, shampoo, deodorant and lotion – all full-size containers to cover at least 1 month’s use. We aim to provide 6,000 kits in 2022 to our neighbors in need to provide them with products typically not covered under SNAP and other government assistance programs.

Global Links has always valued children as capable members of society and welcomed them as volunteers. Through our dedicated Family Volunteer Days, families with children of all ages can work together in a supportive and educational environment.

We invite you and your family to experience this for yourselves by participating in an upcoming Family Volunteer Day. When you do something to contribute to society beyond yourself, you feel good. And you want to do more. And that is good for everyone.

Family Volunteers Days will be scheduled for Dec. of 2022 and registration links will be available in the fall.
